Sean-Michael served four years in the United States Marine Corps on active duty in infantry and reconnaissance units based out of Camp Lejeune and with deployments to Panama, Cuba and Iraq during the First Gulf War. He served an additional eight years in the Selected Marine Corps Reserve. His father served in the Marine Corps deploying to Vietnam; and his brother served 24 years in the Marine Corps retiring as a Sergeant Major.
After separating from active duty, Sean-Michael discovered a love of higher education. He completed his undergraduate studies at the Honors College of the University of Pittsburgh, magna cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He graduated Cornell Law School as the only person in his class to earn two law degrees in three years. He earned his Doctor of Business Administration degree at Franklin University. He holds other advanced degrees from Marist College and the University of Pennsylvania.
Sean-Michael is a serial entrepreneur with a track record of success across several industries. He currently owns and operates several companies – excluding his law practice – that generate over $6.5MM in revenue each year. His recent organizations include an LLC in the logistics industry with over 100 employees, a successful franchise of a nationally-known brand, and a real estate practice operated with partners in multiple states. He founded, built, and sold a technology company while attending law school; and one of his earliest companies – started while still serving as an active-duty Marine – continues to operate today. He has opened, closed, managed and sold dozens of companies over the course of his career.
A habitual volunteer, Sean-Michael is active in his communities. He currently serves as the vice chair of the board of Mind Over Land – an outdoor adventure group supporting the mental health of veterans; and he is a founding board member for the Women’s Refugee Center in Connecticut where he helped to form and register the non-profit organization. Sean-Michael is the past president of the board of directors at Connecticut’s Beardsley Zoo, and he served as an officer of the board of directors for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Since 2006, he has volunteered as a judge for the Wharton School’s annual business plan competition at the University of Pennsylvania. He donates his time to legal matters with Connecticut Veteran Legal Center, and he previously served as a pro bono attorney with Neighborhood Legal Services in Pittsburgh, PA.
Attorney Green is the author of Marching to College: Turning Military Experience into College Admissions (Random House 2004); The Things I Learned in College: My Year in the Ivy League (The Leigh Publishing Company 2016); and dozens of chapters and articles.
